Funding From the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations

Creation of CEPI

The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) was launched at Davos 2017 as the result of a consensus that a coordinated, international, and intergovernmental plan was needed to develop and deploy new vaccines to prevent future epidemics.

CEPI Gets Funded

CEPI is an innovative global partnership between public, private, philanthropic, and civil society organisations working to accelerate the development of vaccines against emerging infectious diseases and enable equitable access to these vaccines for affected populations during outbreaks.

CEPI Funds Public Health Vaccines to develop Nipah vaccine

CEPI has prioritized funding vaccines that can help prevent disease outbreaks from becoming humanitarian crises. CEPI supports the development of vaccines and platform technologies against deadly diseases for which no licensed vaccines are currently available.  In January 2019, CEPI funded Public Health Vaccines to develop a vaccine against the Nipah virus.
